IRCKHF conducted this study in cooperation with the Jordanian Judicial Council, the Public Security Directorate, and the Forensic (Medical Examiner) Branch, with support from UNIFEM Arab States Regional Office. The purpose of the study was to explore and identify social, legal, economic, and cultural characteristics related to crimes perpetrated against Jordanian females during a four-year period. The findings, outcomes, and conclusions were used to demand changes in society at a policy level by addressing the need to change the social, legal, economic, and cultural perceptions of these crimes and remove the practice of legal leniency for the perpetrators.
