CSO Sustainability Index for the Middle East and North Africa

The Information and Research Center has started assessing and preparing the Civil Society Organization sustainability since 2015, in which the four years 2011-2015 were covered. To achieve this purpose and assessment, a committee of experts has been formed in this field to assess the status of civil society organizations, and the USAID and International Management Systems (MSI) funded the preparation of the 2011-2015 and 2016 reports. The assessment focuses on seven dimensions that affect the work of CSOs, which are: the legal environment, organizational capacity, financial viability, advocacy, service provision, infrastructure and the public image of CSOs. In 2017, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and FHI360 in Washington started funding this yearly assessment.
