Respect For Persons
- IRCKHF treats research participants with respect. It recognizes that individuals must be empowered to make their own decisions.
- IRCKHF gives individuals the choice to participate in research and provides them with sufficient information to make an informed decision.
- IRCKHF ensures that consent is informed and is an ongoing process; individuals may withdraw at any time and decline to answer specific questions.
- IRCKHF takes additional considerations to protect those with diminished autonomy, including children and vulnerable groups.
Do No Harm
- IRCKHF is committed to protect the wellbeing of research participants by minimizing any anticipated physical, social, psychological, legal or economic risks.
- IRCKHF is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of research participants.
- IRCKHF ensures that research questions are not intrusive and that participants have control over how much personal information they share.
- IRCKHF maintains confidentiality through the proper handling, storing and dissemination of information.
Justice

- IRCKHF treats research participants in a fair and just manner and ensures that all participants – particularly vulnerable groups – are given a voice in IRCKHF research.
