The Information and Research Center – King Hussein Foundation (IRCKHF) was initially launched in 1996 as part of the National Task Force for Children. Today, the IRCKHF mobilizes knowledge for positive social change. IRCKHF promotes the welfare of children, youth, women, families, communities, and vulnerable groups by providing objective, multidisciplinary research and analysis to practitioners and policymakers in Jordan and the region, enabling effective socio-economic planning and decision-making.
About Us
GOVERNANCE
The Information and Research Center is one of the nine institutions of the King Hussein Foundation (KHF). King Hussein was dedicated to applying the principles of democracy, justice, and peace within Jordan and among nations. He believed in the power of education to shape the future and in the potential in each individual to effect change in our communities. Shortly after King Hussein passed away in 1999, the King Hussein Foundation was established by Royal Decree to continue his humanitarian vision and legacy. Today, KHF continues to uphold these fundamental values. The mission of the KHF is to build upon King Hussein's lifelong dedication to human security, social equity, and peace in Jordan, the Middle East and beyond through programs and institutions which promote education and leadership, sustainable development, women and girls empowerment, participatory decision making, and cross-cultural understanding. In Jordan, the King Hussein Foundation's Board of Trustees formed an affiliation between the Noor Al Hussein Foundation (NHF) and KHF to expand and strengthen the community development models pioneered by NHF in the Kingdom since 1985. Queen Noor chairs the King Hussein Foundation to build on King Hussein’s humanitarian vision and legacy in Jordan and abroad through national, regional and international programs that promote education and leadership, economic empowerment, tolerance, and cross-cultural dialogue and media that enhance mutual understanding and respect among different cultures and across conflict lines.
