Empowering Civil Society through Community Media: Monitoring 7 media sources

The overall goal of this project is to strengthen the role of civil society in promoting human rights and democratic reform, enhancing political participation and political representation, and giving special attention to women's rights. In this project, the role of the Information and Research Center - King Hussein Foundation is to monitor and issue reports on how to deal with gender issues in seven different media outlets, including the print and audio governmental, private, and societal outlets (Jordan News Agency (Petra), Alghad Newspaper, Addustour Newspaper, Khaberni, Ammon News, Hala Radio, and Farah El Nas Radio). This is done through monthly and quarterly reports that focus on the way in which media content deals with gender and focus on precise terms and interpretations of how text, titles, images and animations deal with women.
